A high-speed Lamborghini driven by Shivam Mishra, the son of businessman KK Mishra, injured at least six people on VIP Road in Kanpur on Sunday afternoon, triggering panic and a brief mob backlash. The crash occurred at around 3.15 pm near Rev-3 Mall, where the car went out of control, rammed pedestrians and multiple vehicles, and was later seized by police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava said the Lamborghini veered into people standing along the roadside and several vehicles, causing injuries and chaos in the area. The injured were taken to a private hospital, while the car, which was registered in Northwest Delhi’s Rohini, was placed in police custody.

“The accident occurred around 3.15 pm near Rev-3 Mall when the luxury car, reportedly driven by Shivam Mishra, the son of businessman KK Mishra, went out of control and ploughed into people standing along the roadside and several vehicles, triggering panic in the area,” said Srivastava.

Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal on Monday confirmed that the car was being driven by Shivam Mishra.

“We have found the details of the car. The car has been seized. The car was driven by Shivam Mishra. His father is KK Mishra. After the accident, Shivam Mishra’s bouncers pulled him out of the car. It is being said that he has some medical issues. The FIR of the accident was registered earlier, and now, in our investigation, we have learned that the name of the driver is Shivam Mishra,” Commissioner Lal told the media.

“Shivam Mishra is in the hospital. Our police team has reached his residence for further investigation. An FIR of an accident has been registered. One person was injured. He has been treated in the hospital. Law is equal for everyone, whether it is a Lamborghini or a smaller car. Actions will be taken against Shivam Mishra who was driving the car,” he added.

What happened on VIP Road

Eyewitness accounts said the Lamborghini Aventador was moving at a very high speed when it first struck an auto-rickshaw and then smashed into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle. The impact flung the motorcycle rider nearly 10 feet into the air. The luxury car mounted the motorcycle’s front wheel, dragged it for some distance, and finally hit an electric pole before coming to a halt.

Crowd backlash and police response

Mishra allegedly tried to flee the scene instead of stopping after the collision. People said bouncers following him in another vehicle attempted to shield him and misbehaved with bystanders. Enraged passersby then smashed the Lamborghini’s windows and pulled Mishra out of the car.

Police reached the spot soon after, brought the situation under control, and shifted Mishra and the injured to hospital. The Lamborghini, reportedly worth over Rs 6 crore, suffered heavy damage and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
